CareerGuide - Mentors
Become a CareerGuide Mentor! Join us in empowering MC students to achieve their dreams by providing valuable, one-time feedback on their career documents. Your insights will make a world of difference in their journey to success!

The CareerGuide Online Mentorship Program supports the professional development of UPS Metropolitan College students attending the University of Louisville and Jefferson Community and Technical College. This unique and fully-online mentorship program is meant to be a one-time exchange between the students and mentors so there is no lengthy time commitment involved.
Students are connected with professionals who will serve as their "CareerGuides". MC aims to match students and CareerGuides within similar career fields. As a CareerGuide, you will provide valuable “one-time” feedback through an email-based guided form on career documents such as resumes, LinkedIn profiles, and recorded mock interviews.
One-time mentorship engagements provide flexibility and allow CareerGuides to share their knowledge and expertise in an impactful way. Students benefit from receiving timely feedback on their career documents from experienced industry professionals which contributes to their growth, development, and ultimate success!
Students and CareerGuides can maintain contact beyond the one-time mentorship engagement, if mutually agreed, but this is not requirement or expectation of the program.
Mentorship Closures
Special Notice: Due to the busy time of the semester and institutional closings, the MC CareerGuide Online Mentorship Program will be closed the week of Thanksgiving through January 1 each year. Any mentor applications or student requests received during this time will reviewed as soon as possible once the office reopens.
Mentor Information
Who Can Be a Mentor? To be a CareerGuide Mentor, you must meet the following:
- Have a degree/credential or equivalent experience
- One or more years in career field
- Willing to share knowledge and support students!
Know some professionals that meet these criteria? Share this opportunity with them and encourage them to apply to be mentors!
What is the Time Commitment? Each feedback form can take about 20-30 minutes to complete. Mentors have the option to receive up to five matches a month, so that's five feedback forms to complete. Can't commit that much time? That's okay! Let us know in your mentor form how many matches you can take a month. We encourage mentors to submit feedback within two weeks, so take that into consideration when deciding how many matches to take.
