What are MC Pathways?
Metropolitan College Career Pathways provide a clear, intentional roadmap from education → experience → employment. Each pathway identifies:
- Majors at UofL and JCTC aligned with a specific career sector
- Skills and experiences students need to be competitive in the workplace
- Kentucky employers actively hiring in that field
- Events, workshops, and networking opportunities available each semester
Students who join a Career Pathway gain access to:
- Clear direction on majors and careers that match their goals
- Structured semester events including employer panels, skill‑building workshops, and career exploration
- Networking opportunities with Kentucky employers
- Priority access to pathway‑specific resources and support
- A competitive edge in the job market through early exposure to industry expectations
- Direct connections to destination employers actively recruiting MC students
Combined with paid work at UPS and tuition‑free college, Career Pathways help students graduate with experience, confidence, and a plan. Scroll down to learn more about each pathway.
How To Learn More and Get Involved?
Current and Future MC Students
Students can explore all current MC Career Pathways on the MC website. Each pathway includes an online interest form available to (1) Current MC students and (2) Future students within six months of starting MC. Completing the form connects students with a MC Student Success Counselor who will guide them through next steps, including pathway programming, employer engagement, and academic planning.
Industry Professionals
Industry professionals are also encouraged to get involved. If you are interested in:
- Connecting with MC students in an existing pathway
- Hosting or participating in MC pathway‑aligned programming or events
- Exploring the creation of a new MC career pathway that aligns with your workforce needs
