The Metropolitan College Aviation Maintenance Pathway offers a tuition‑free route to earning your Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license through Jefferson Community and Technical College’s Aviation Maintenance Technology program, while you earn wages, bonuses, and full employee benefits including health insurance. After completing the program, students have a guaranteed interview with FEAM Aero.

Employment eligibility will be evaluated individually based on demonstrated skills, academic performance, engagement in pathway education sessions, the information provided in their candidacy application, and available openings.

The MC Aviation Maintenance Pathway is designed to give you a seamless, structured route from student to skilled aviation maintenance professional. From your first day on the job at UPS to hands‑on training at Jefferson Community and Technical College—and ultimately into a possible career with FEAM Aero —you’ll follow a clear, supported process that builds experience, confidence, and long‑term employability. Below is a step‑by‑step overview of how the program works from application to career launch.

- Complete the MC Aviation Maintenance Technology Pathway Program Interest Form.
- Complete this form if you are interested in becoming a participant by enrolling in Jefferson Community and Technical College’s Aviation Maintenance Technology program and participating in Metropolitan College.
- Interested participants will be contacted by a MC Student Success Counselor to learn more about your education and career goals, answer your questions about the MC AMT Pathway Program and provide support as you navigate the process to enroll.
- Apply and Get Hired by UPS in an MC Eligible Area

Apply 30-45 days prior to desired start date.
Applicants interested in this pathway need to work 1DA Hub positions.
Accept employment at UPS.

Enroll in the MC Aviation Maintenance Technology Pathway
Once enrolled in JCTC AMT program and an active MC participant, complete the pathway Enrollment Form
Attend Education Sessions offered with MC, UPS, and FEAM Aero via MS Teams approximately once each fall and spring semesters. Pathway Education Sessions include topics such as:
- AMT Job Scenarios & Professional Skills for Success — Real‑world maintenance scenarios illustrating expectations for communication across generations, responsiveness in a safety‑driven environment, technical writing essentials, and the core soft skills required for high‑performance aviation workplaces.
- How A&P Experience Builds Your Future Career Path — How hands‑on FEAM Aero experience accelerates readiness for long‑term opportunities, including meeting experience requirements for employers like UPS and other major aviation organizations.
- Employment Opportunities & Hiring Processes at FEAM — Overview of FEAM Aero’s role as a global MRO, the technical competencies students develop on next‑generation aircraft, and how daily line‑maintenance work strengthens A&P skills. Clear guidance on FEAM Aero job pathways, application steps, onboarding expectations, and an introduction to additional aviation employers and career routes available to A&P‑licensed technicians.
➤ DURING YOUR ACADEMIC PROGRAM
- Develop Career Readiness Skills: Through the MC Career and Academic Planning Program (CAPP), AMT students receive personalized career coaching from MC that helps them effectively communicate their skills and experiences to meet FEAM Aero’s hiring needs. Support includes resume writing, mock interviews, and tailored guidance aligned with FEAM Aero’s employability criteria.
- Engage in Mentorship and Coaching: MC AMT students are provided with a clear roadmap to become an AMT. MC will provide guidance on required experience, skill benchmarks, internal advancement opportunities, external advancement opportunities, and employment and hiring projection.
- Apply and Interview with FEAM: Through MC's Career and Academic Planning Program (CAPP), MC AMT students are fully prepared to present themselves as strong candidates throughout the hiring process with FEAM Aero. Students learn how to market their skill sets effectively, build polished and professional resumes, and practice interview strategies that highlight their experience, strengths, and readiness for the aviation industry. With this personalized support, you’ll be equipped to present a strong, well‑prepared candidacy when meeting with FEAM Aero recruiters and transitioning into your first role as an aviation maintenance professional.
- Submit the Faculty Reference Form: MC AMT students are strongly encouraged to submit the JCTC AMT Faculty Reference Form at least two weeks prior to your scheduled FEAM Aero interview. Submitting early ensures your faculty evaluator has adequate time to complete a thorough assessment and allows MC to include your reference in the hiring packet shared with FEAM Aero.
➤ MC GRADUATE EMPLOYMENT
- Career Launched with FEAM Aero! Eligible AMT graduates from Metropolitan College are eligible for hire by FEAM Aero, providing a clear and immediate transition into the aviation maintenance workforce. This direct placement supports both student career advancement and employer talent needs. After obtaining your A&P license, your future is up to you!
- Skill Development: At minimum, you will have the opportunity to develop the following skills while employed at FEAM Aero to enhance your long-term employability skills:
- Your experience in aircraft maintenance at FEAM Aero could include but is not limited to:
- Boeing and Airbus aircraft
- Knowledge of computer systems
- Troubleshooting skills and ability to read and interpret Aircraft Manuals and Illustrated Parts Catalogues
- Sheet metal work
