Refer students to the Get Started Checklist or a MC Student Success Counselor

Current UPS employees who work in an MC eligible work area and attend one of the two participating schools (JCTC, UofL), and complete the steps listed on the Get Started Checklist.

Metropolitan College tuition benefits are limited to undergraduate level coursework at the University of Louisville and Jefferson Community and Technical College.

Metropolitan College (MC) does not cover graduate-level coursework as part of its tuition benefit. The program is designed to support undergraduate students pursuing associate or bachelor’s degrees.

However, students who continue their education at the graduate level may still be eligible to use UPS’s Earn and Learn program, which offers tuition assistance for graduate studies. We encourage students to explore this benefit through UPS HR or their Student Success Counselor. Additionally, students should contact their graduate department on campus to inquire about graduate assistantships, which may offer tuition benefits and stipends in exchange for teaching, research, or administrative support. By combining these resources, students can continue their education with financial support and valuable professional experience.

Yes, UPS leadership are encouraged to reach out with questions, concerns, or feedback about the Metropolitan College program.

For general inquiries or to be connected with the appropriate staff member, please refer to the Get Connected section of the Metropolitan College website. This section provides contact information and guidance for connecting with program staff, including Student Success Counselors (SSCs). and administrative personnel.

If you have more specific questions, feedback, or would like to discuss aspects of the Metropolitan College program in greater detail, you're welcome to contact the MC Director or Executive Director. They are available to provide clarity, address concerns, and engage in meaningful dialogue to support both faculty/staff and student success.

Yes! UPS Leadership can participate in the same MC orientation training as their student employees.

As part of the Metropolitan College onboarding process, all new student participants complete an online orientation called the Student Transition Program (STP) before signing their first MC agreement.

Now, these modules are available to UPS leaders to help deepen your understanding of the MC student journey.

By reviewing the STP modules, you’ll gain valuable insight into:

  • Key Metropolitan College policies

  • Resources available to support student success

  • The unique challenges students face balancing third-shift work and college life

Your engagement with these materials can enhance your ability to mentor, guide, and advocate for students as they navigate both academic and workplace responsibilities.
