  • As of Summer 2025, 24,067 students have participated in the Metropolitan College program for at least one semester and have earned 16017 credentials:
    • 2,135 students earned 5,057 certificates.
    • 2,895 students earned 3,649 associate degrees or diplomas.
    • 5,330 students earned 5,644 baccalaureate degrees.
    • 1,417 students earned 1,667 master’s or other graduate degrees at the University of Louisville

As of Fall 2025, MC students self-reported that the following is what motivates them to participate in Metropolitan College:

  • 23% MC is the only way to pay for tuition.
  • 27% I want to avoid taking out loans
  • 6% Already had some debt and didn’t want to add to it.
  • 4% Financial resources I originally relied on are no longer available (i.e. scholarships, grants, family support, etc.)
  • 19% I wanted to maximize all ways to financially support education and living expenses.
  • 18% UPS benefits beyond tuition were important to me (i.e. pay, insurance, etc.)
  • 4% A MC Career Pathway attracted me to the program.

     

As of Fall 2025, MC students self-reported that with Metropolitan College participating benefits, they would describe their financial circumstances as:

  • 21% I do not have to worry about money
  • 28% I have extra money after paying my bills
  • 33% I am breaking even
  • 16% I am barely making it
  • 1% I cannot make ends meet. 

 

As of Spring 2025:

  • 40% of UofL and 49% of JCTC MC students are eligible for federal aid (Pell, CAP, or SEOG).
  • 26% JCTC and 25% UofL MC students self-reported they are first generation college students.
  • 64% of UofL MC students and 40% of JCTC MC continuing students are enrolled full-time.
