About the Award
Established in 2013, The Metropolitan College Outstanding Student Award honors and recognizes the workforce achievements of Jefferson Community and Technical College (JCTC) and University of Louisville (UofL) students working third shift at UPS who demonstrate outstanding leadership, work-life balance, and academic success
Award Criteria
- Commitment to academic success, career goals, and work-life balance
- Positive attitude towards the MC program and role model at UPS
- Involvement in experiential learning (employment, co-curricular activities, internships, etc.)
Student Eligibility
- Currently employed at UPS in an eligible MC work area
- Enrolled in the current spring semester
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
- Participated in the MC program for at least two semesters
- Agree to have name and photo published
Nominations Guidelines
- Nominators are those with direct knowledge of the nominee’s achievements including but not limited to, faculty, staff, supervisors, family, friends, classmates, etc.
- Self-nominations accepted
- Multiple nominations allowed
Awards Ceremony & Recognition
- Nominees: Names published on the MC website in May
- Winners: Featured on the MC website, social media, institutional ceremonies, and receive an award plaque
