Student Spotlight

Jacey Birch is a dedicated student and employee.

Jacey is currently a senior at the University of Louisville studying Psychology and Social Work. Jacey is able to balance working third shift, while studying for two degrees, and maintains a fantastic GPA. Jacey has been on the Dean's List multiple times during her time at UofL.

Jacey has been working at UPS for over three years and is currently serving as a Part-Time Supervisor. Her supervisor noted that Jacey is dependable and always willing to help others when needed.

Once Jacey graduates, she plans on enrolling in a MSSW program with a concentration in mental health.

Why did you decide to participate in the MC program?
To get my college tuition paid for and have no loans.

What advice do you have for prospective and current students in the MC program?
To keep good motivation going to work because it is paying for their school.

How has working at UPS contributed to your personal and professional growth?
It has improved my work ethic. It has also given me opportunities to able to communication and cooperate more.

What led you to choose your major of study?
I like knowing about why people do the things they do and I also want to help people with their emotional problems.

What has been your involvement with co-curricular activities, co-ops or internships, volunteer experience, community service, undergraduate research, etc.?
I was also able to intern over therapists and social workers, so I got a good idea of what those careers entail. I am also a part of the Psi Chi Organization and Mortar Board Organization where I do volunteering and community service.

What person(s) has been the biggest influence in your life and why?
My mom because she has guided me throughout my entire life and especially education journey with helpful advice.

What is an interesting or fun fact about yourself?
I have a yellow/orange tabby cat named Zen.
