Josh Schneider
Through UPS, I have received a degree in finance and held positions in both Air District and Air Group Finance.
Congratulations to Josh Schneider for being a finalist in the Fall 2015 Share Your Metropolitan College Experience Contest.
This turned out to be the best decision I had ever made in my career.
UPS’s Metro College program was something I heard a lot about coming out of high school. But at 18 [years of age], I didn’t believe that the third shift life would work for me. After a year in college while also working a 40 hour job to pay for everything, I considered all options and realized what I was currently doing was too much to maintain for four years. So I applied to UPS. I wanted to take the risk of working third shift and changing my routine in order to get my education paid for. This turned out to be the best decision I have ever made in my career.
Adjusting to night life wasn’t easy, but it was more manageable than what I was doing before. The paychecks weren’t very large, but I was fortunate to have my school paid for and also receive a weekly income on top of that. I was only working 18-20 hours a week, so more time was available for studies. I got in a great routine with taking late classes and then having time to study and complete my homework, go to the gym, and have some fun before work.
I received an education that was paid for by this great company, and also received an amazing job opportunity.
Through UPS, I have received a degree in finance and held positions in both Air District and Air Group Finance. I received a part-time supervisor position in air district finance 3 weeks after receiving my degree and have since moved to the Air Group Accounting GL department where I currently have a full-time position.
I’m so blessed to be where I am today. I received an education that was paid for by this great company and also received an amazing job opportunity. I plan to keep moving up in the company in finance/accounting or in the operations and pursue my MBA at a later date.

"As the youngest daughter in a middle income family, I fit right into that comfort zone where my family did not have enough money to pay for my tuition. I am so thankful for the Metro College program."
