Metropolitan College REACH Requirements
REACH is UofL’s academic support hub, offering free tutoring, coaching, and learning tools to help you succeed. For Metropolitan College students, REACH is a required part of your first-year experience.
What is REACH?
REACH provides free academic support services that are proven to help students succeed in college. This includes:
- One-on-one academic coaching
- Tutoring and study sessions
- Peer-led study groups (PAL)
- Workshops and skill-building sessions
These services are designed to boost your confidence, improve your learning strategies, and connect you with the resources you need to achieve your goals.
Why REACH is Important for MC Students
All first-time UofL Metropolitan College (MC) signers are required to meet with an Academic Coach:
- ✅ Minimum of 2 times in their first semester
- ✅ Minimum of 3 times if you have an approved MC petition for UofL benefits
- ✅ If you have a denied petition, you must attend at least 3 coaching sessions and earn a 2.7 GPA to be eligible for re-petitioning
REACH Academic Coaches are here to:
- Help identify your learning strengths
- Build an individualized support plan
- Guide you to tutoring and academic services
- Support your confidence, independence, and long-term success
MC students face challenges inside and outside of the classroom that may differ from a non- MC participant, we want to ensure that you have all the tools you need to be successful.
